Cyclotella

A genus of diatoms, the microscopic algae Cyclotella is found in many salt water lakes and in the Mediterranean. In sub-optimal conditions, it can subsist in a semi-vegetative state.

However, when its living conditions improve, Cyclotella develops special "messages" to reproduce.

Scientists have isolated and analyzed these "messages." They describe a neuro-biochemical composition very similar to that of endorphins, the body's main messengers of sensations of pleasure and relief.

Through its action, Cyclotella acts as a relaxant and helps ease pain. Research has also shown that endorphins, which are associated with pleasure, are produced both in the brain and by the skin, where they have a definite effect on lymph circulation and fat metabolism, and their draining and slenderizing action Cyclotella stimulates the production of endorphins in the skin which encourage lymph circulation, for pain relief, and action on swelling, edema, water retention, and cellulite.
